Cox Communications Young Artists’ Concerto Competition

The Cox Communications Young Artists’ Concerto Competition recognizes emerging talent in the area of music performance. The competition is open to all Nevada students who attend a Nevada school, and are ages 10-18, up to grade 12. Applications are accepted for: bass, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, harp, horn, oboe, percussion, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, tuba, viola, and violin. The 2019 competition took place on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at the College of Southern Nevada, Cheyenne Campus.

First Prize
Kayla Quijano, cello (17, Las Vegas Academy; student of Amanda Andreasen)

Second Prize
Daniel Kyong, violin (16, Coronado High School; student of Chan Ho Yun)

Honorable Mention
Shyler Macaggi, viola (15, Green Valley High School; student of Dmitri Kourka)
