Paul Aksman, originally from New Jersey, comes from a musical family; his mother is a piano teacher and his grandparents were both professional double bassists. Currently he is a member of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, Dallas Opera, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Fort Collins Symphony, and the Greeley Philharmonic. Mr. Aksman attended the Julliard preparatory program (2003), where he was a student of Bret Simner and Eugene Levinson, and he did his undergraduate studies at the Peabody Institute (2007) with Paul Johnson and Jeffrey Weisner. He received his Masters degrees studying at the University of Southern California (2011) with David Moore, and the Colburn School (2013) with Peter Lloyd. As a student, Mr. Aksman was a string fellow at the Aspen Music Festival for three summers.
