YTTE (Yield to Total Elation) - A World Premiere of the Full Orchestral Version

Symphony No. 7 in D Minor, Opus 70

YOUR SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA GOES TRIBAL as we celebrate Donato’s birthday with the West Coast premiere of Clarice Assad’s overture, Nhanderú, a musical portrait of an Amazon basin ritual that focuses on faith, prayer, and gratitude. Nathaniel Stookey’s orchestral version of YTTE (Yield to Total Elation), a piece inspired by the story of A.G. Rizzoli, a humble draftsman who created elaborate designs for a vast imaginary city, receives its world premiere. Finally, one of Donato’s favorite pieces, Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7, creates a fantastic counterpoint as the centerpiece for the second half of this celebratory concert. Known for its dramatic expression and brooding atmosphere, this is perhaps one of Dvořák’s most personal, self-explorative works.
